Who am I?

Mom, wife, daughter, sister, ATM for a teenager, taxi driver, cook, laundress, maid, dog owner, child of the 80s & chief bottle washer.  Yes - in that order.

 

Ohh...you meant professionally!  Sorry.

Jack of all trades, master of only a few (and still working on those).

 

Is this your 'real job'?

It is now!!  When I started in 2013, it was just to help out my sister and a few directors.  Now, it is a full-time job! I was working two jobs and barely making ends meet.  We were really struggling.  I returned a phone call to one of my first customers during my lunch break from my car to answer some questions she had and she asked me why I was still working another job.  I told her I couldn't afford to quit.  She said of course you can. Do what you love and the money will come. I thought about it a lot over the next month and prayed about it even more. She called me again a month later and asked me one question - "did you quit your job yet?"  I laughed and said no - her response was, what are you waiting for? So, I quit.  It was the best decision I ever made in my life!  Thanks, Angie!

 

Am I a sales consultant?

Nope, but my sister is and she keeps me kitted out right in all the latest and greatest!

 

How did I come by the opportunity of designing newsletters and such for Direct Sales Directors?

Again, my sister. I knew when she came along it would lead to something.

She needed help with her newsletter, just like you, and I offered to do one for her.

She shared it with a Director's group on Facebook. Then, well - things snowballed. Thanks for the blessings, Vickie!  Love ya!

 

What program do you use to design?

Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

 

Where'd you learn to do this?

I worked as a typesetter at a newspaper and printing company while in college - who would have ever thunk it!  The rest is self-taught.

 

Do you only do graphic design for direct sales directors?

Absolutely not! Any business or company that has a project - from business cards, stationery and logos to catalogs, print ads and basic websites - let us know!

When did I realize that I had a "why" too?

July 2014 in Columbus, Ohio standing beside my sister in a sea of pink shirts on the upper deck of the arena at the Thirty-One National Conference watching a video of a bag in a box making its rounds on that conveyor belt through the distribution center, on its own little journey to someones door.  The line "it's so much more than a cute little bag" got me.  It really hit home.  I actually started to cry. I looked around at all of these women, so excited and so blessed. I realized that by supporting them in their roles in achieving their why, I could achieve mine.

 

That was a life changing moment for me!!

 

I knew then this was what I was supposed to do with my time, my energy, and my life. The blessings that have followed have been immeasurable. To finally be financially stable, appreciated for what I do, and love what I am doing - it is a blessing each and every day. I am so thankful to be on this wonderful journey with all of you.
